I have lived in many countries in the past 15 years, have been always packing and unpacking, adjusting myself in a new environment and seeing new sights and people. However, my passion for drawing and painting has always stayed with me wherever I live!
これまでの15年間の海外生活は、常に荷造りと荷解き、そして新しい環境への適応、未知なる情景や人との出会いの繰り返しでした。けれど、どこに住んでも絵を描くことは生活の中にありつづけています。

Travel journal

Moleskine notebook

Travel journal has been always my travel company for more than 20 years when I began traveling alone. A solo travel was a trigger of my journal, but now my Moleskine journal is always with me - even when I go to see my friends in town, in case they are late and I have some time for sketching while waiting. My journal is full of sketches in my daily life as well as sketches of my trips.

一人旅をするようになった20年以上前から、いつも日記帳とともに旅をしてきました。一人旅をきっかけに始めた旅日記でしたが、今では日常生活でもモレスキンのノートを持ち歩いています。もし友だちが約束の時間に遅れたら、待ち時間に少しスケッチの時間が取れるかしら、と町で友だちに会う時でさえモレスキンを持って出かけるのです。そんなわけで、最近のモレスキンのノートには、旅日記だけでなく、日常のスケッチも多く綴っています。

Urban sketching

Watercolour has been always my passion. It is obvious that it is an influence of Japanese calligraphy which we can see the beauty of gradation of Indian ink. I once wanted to be a Japanese calligrapher and lived in the nature called Izu, to focus on art for two years. At the end, I decided to give up my dream but I am still intrigued by the beauty of mixture of colours and water, the colour created coincidentally by the amount of water and the timing, and warmth of the art. In recent years, I have been painting many architecture in Europe with watercolours.

水彩画はいつも私の中心にあります。それは墨の濃淡の美しさを見ることができる書道の影響だと思っています。かつて、書道家になるために伊豆に住み、書道に明け暮れた時期がありました。近年は書道と共通する色と水の融合の美、水の量やタイミングによって偶然にできる色に心惹かれ、水彩画を描いています。

ZINE

The Seasons of Finland

After living in Finland for nine and half years, I collected my sketches and watercolours of my days there and created a ZINE titled “The Seasons of Finland - A Collection of Sketches and Stories”. It includes lots of my art work all in colours together with my diary in Japanese and English.

9年半にわたるフィンランド生活を終え、フィンランドで描いたスケッチや水彩画を一冊のZINEにまとめました。フルカラーの絵をたくさん掲載し、日本語と英語でフィンランドの季節や生活について説明文を加えています。
